My son, J.P., age 25, is shown here outside the library at Boston College, where I work, and where he now works too! It took some doing, but outside the library at Boston
College, where I work, and
where he now works too! now J.P. works 4 hours a week, with a job coach, shelving books and also shredding documents in the library’s learning center. He works for friends of mine who absolutely love him. I am so proud of J.P. for all the challenges involved in his job: taking a cab from his program location to B.C., walking across campus to the library, working with his darling student job coach, making friends with co-workers, and–oh, yes–doing his job well. J.P. is proud of himself, too! So many things are possible that we never thought would be when J.P. was little. For parents of little ones, please know that things get better!
He has every reason to be proud of himself!
Well done JP keep up the good work..!!
Thanks for the encouraging story.

I love your story. I have a nine yr. old and work at a library. Maybe one day my son Tony will join me. I look forward to him being as independent as your son.
JP!!!! You are a star! I’m so proud of you!
Good work!
Love you to pieces,

Having read your book 2 times, I feel like I personally know J. P. He should be very proud of himself and you should be very proud of yourself for raising such a wonderful young man. I’m glad to hear that things do get better. My son is turning 13 and his behaviors have multiplied over the last few months. Looking forward to easier days!
