Pietro Chiurazzi
Pietro Chiurazzi, born in Rome (Italy)
in 1967, graduated in Medicine in 1992 and specialized
in Medical Genetics in 1996 at the Catholic University
in Rome (Italy). He worked two years at the Department
of Clinical Genetics of the Erasmus University in Rotterdam
(The Netherlands), where he obtained the PhD in Genetics
in 2001 with a Thesis on the fragile X syndrome. After
three years as Researcher in the Department of Pediatrics
at the University of Messina (Italy), he is now researcher
and associate Professor of Genetics at the Institute
of Medical Genetics of the Catholic University in Rome
(Italy). His main research interests are the fragile
X syndrome and other X-linked mental retardation conditions,
epigenetic regulation of gene expression, microarray
analysis of gene expression, bioinformatics.
