We look forward to welcoming CFXF Scientific Advisor Dr. Randi Hagerman of the MIND Institute in Sacramento, CA for her visit in May. Many of our parents have made appointments to see Randi while she is here and they are planning a gala around her visit, as well. We have all too few opportunities to visit with Randi and we enjoy her visits.

Partly as a result of my work in Washington the Autism community is learning that the best hope for them may very well come through research on Fragile X. As always, thank you to all of you for your continued support, without which our work to find a cure for Fragile X could not continue.

Harris Hollin has been re-appointed to the PCPID for another two-year term. In his role as the Chair of the newly-formed Research Application sub-committee, Harris has worked to see that a recommendation to expedite the translation of research findings into practical application for consumers is included in the Committee's report to the President.

His presenters at the Feb.15-16th meeting in Washington included, Patricia Morrissey, Ph.D., Commissioner, Administration on Developmental Disabilities, US Dept. of Health and Human Services, Steve Warren, Ph.D., Director, Schiefelbusch Institute of Life Span Studies, University of Kansas and George Jesien, Ph.D., Executive Director, Association of University Centers on Disabilities.

Harris has used every opportunity to raise awareness of Fragile X in this highly visible advisory position.
