Dear Fragile X Advocate The National Fragile X Foundation cordially invites you to participate in our Second Annual ADVOCACY DAY on March 16, 2005 in Washington DC. A mandatory* afternoon training session and legislative panel discussion will be held on March 15th and Congressional meetings will be scheduled throughout the day on the 16th. Because of your hard work, Advocacy Day 2004 resulted in the first - ever appropriation of $900,000 to create a fragile X public health initiative at the CDC's National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities, as well as strong Congressional support for increased funding of fragile X research through the NIH. Updated information, including hotel details, will be posted here at the Public Policy and Legislative Advocacy Page of the NFXF so check back often. Follow this link to our online Registration Form to register for Advocacy Day. Once you're registered for Advocacy Day you'll receive direct email updates Our advocates are the core of our success in Washington, and we would not be effective without your continued active participation. We're looking forward to seeing you on March 15 and 16 and we are truly excited about what we can accomplish together! The National Fragile X Foundation Washington Team
*We strongly recommend that everyone plan on attending our afternoon training session on Tuesday March 15. This will be especially important for those advocates that have never participated in events such as this before. However if you are unable to attend the Tuesday training and want to join us for Advocacy Day on Wednesday March 16 please contact a member of our Washington Team for instructions. |
