The members of the Fragile X Association of Michigan have continued to play an active role in the Washington D.C. advocacy efforts of the National Fragile X Foundation. 2008 represented the sixth year in a row that the Fragile X Assoc. of MI sent representatives to participate in the annual Advocacy Day Conference, in Washington D.C., sponsored by the National Fragile X Foundation.
  
Due in large part to the efforts of Michigan families, Senator Debbie Stabenow has once again agreed to co-lead the effort to convince her colleagues in Congress to increase the funds made available for Fragile X research and programming. These efforts are beginning to pay off as a new Fragile X public health program at the Centers for Disease Control has just been funded for a second year. 
 
Senator Stabenow was recently presented with the National Fragile X Foundation's Congressional Champion Award by the Fragile X Assoc. of Michigan's President, Laureen Majeske; Treasurer, Kim Young; Board Members, Arlene and Jeffrey Cohen and Joshua Cohen.

The Fragile X Association of MI is a member of the Troy Chamber of Commerce (TTC) and its Non-Profit Network (NPN)!

The Non-profit Network consists of approximately 25 community groups and charitable organizations that meet every other month to explore partnership opportunities and share information with each other.
