PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR TELEVISION
As part of our ongoing
efforts to raise public awareness of fragile X syndrome, The National Fragile X Foundation periodically films and distributes Public Service Announcements (PSAs) for television. There are many charities submitting PSAs and it often
takes time to get onto a station's PSA list. If you have any connections with your local broadcast or cable TV provider, please contact us to help with this exciting and important public awareness effort. If you see one of our
PSAs on television please drop us a line at NATLFX@FragileX.org and let us know what station it was on and where you live.
Following is a viewable list of our current and past PSAs. Please be patient as it may take a few
moments before the video begins to play.
Fragile X PSA with Meredith Baxter (30 Seconds) 2004

Thanks to the efforts of Board members Jeffrey and Arlene Cohen and friends of the NFXF, Kathy Nagler and Andy Bobrow, actress Meredith Baxter of "Family
Ties" fame, readily agreed to film a new PSA for the NFXF. This PSA will begin airing in late 2004 and 2005.

Fragile X PSA #2 with Richard Anderson (30 Seconds) 2000
Thanks to the efforts of former Board member, Stephen LeCover, in 2000 Richard Anderson, former star of "The Six Million Dollar Man" and "The Bionic Woman" TV
series agreed to film a series of public service announcements for the NFXF. These PSA's acquainted viewers with some basics about fragile X and directed them to the NFXF for more information.

Fragile X PSA with Josh Taylor (60seconds) 2000

In 2000, Josh Taylor, friend of Executive Director Robert Miller and one of the stars of the soap opera "Days of Our Lives" completed a 60 second PSA about fragile X syndrome which included appearances by NFXF members and
supporters Tracey Barber, her daughter Mikayla, Jay Halterman and Mathew Smith. The target audience for this longer PSA was local access/cable stations around the country.

Our 2000-2003 campaign was highly successful and resulted in our PSAs being shown in at least 15 of
the 50 major television markets for over 20 million viewers in the U.S. Our biggest success came when CBS approved it for national distribution to its affiliates.
There is nothing more exciting than to hear from a parent who has seen our PSA. Many times, families have been under the impression that they were the only ones in the world impacted by fragile X. They
are thrilled to learn that there are other parents in their area and that the NFXF is sending them a free packet of fragile X information.
Though the actors who appear in our PSAs have generously donated their time, and two of our PSAs have been filmed at no cost by the LAPD film studio, the distribution is a very expensive project. It has
only been through the kind support of our members and friends that this effort has been possible.
