Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia New Member of the FXCRC

We are thrilled to announce the addition of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP)  to the NFXF’s Fragile X Clinical & Research Consortium (FXCRC). The clinic is being run by Dr. Amanda Bennett  who previously provided medical consultation and services to those utilizing the former Fragile X clinic in Elwyn, PA. Dr. Bennett is a developmental pediatrician and will see patients from birth to age 18. As a member of the FXCRC, Dr. Bennett and her team will benefit from the communication with, and the expertise of, the 40+ U.S. and international clinics that belong to the FXCRC.

As is the case for all FXCRC clinics, medical, including medication, evaluation is a core component of the clinic and families will be able to carry home Fragile X-specific treatment recommendations to their primary care provider as well as their child’s educators and therapists. In addition, various other services are provided directly by the clinic or through referral on an as-needed basis. Those services include assistance with transitioning to adult care.
